HEMOXIAN 1/10 Lone Shadow Model kit – Assembly Experience and Design Evaluation of the Model

The overall assembly process remains smooth, with no parts requiring excessive force. Once assembled, however, the joints hold very well. The structural design is undoubtedly one of the standout features, providing a highly enjoyable building experience, which is difficult to fully convey through text and images – it’s something you have to experience for yourself.

Body Parts Overview (Also includes a piece of differently colored armor and red transparent parts):

The primary design theme of the model follows a skull ninja style. The color scheme is relatively balanced and gives a comfortable visual effect. The body utilizes biomimetic structures in several places, with finely sculpted muscle details. The occasional red accents are subtle but quite effective.

Head and Eye Design: The eyes offer two options: pure transparent parts and transparent with silver pre-painted details. I opted for the pre-painted version, which provides a reflective silver finish in normal lighting, while blue light still shines through at certain angles, creating a very cool effect.

Head Features: The model has two styles of demon horns on the head, and red/blue transparent parts that can be swapped out. Additionally, the mouth can be opened for an added dynamic effect.

The top of the head features a transparent piece, and the small protrusion is a light switch for the light-up feature.

Body Structure: The body structure is interesting, with a linkage design for both the neck and waist. The chest is detailed with etched metal parts and transparent components. There are five different patterns on the etched pieces, each corresponding to Lonely Shadow and the four Li Mingzhong members. I randomly selected a pattern I liked and attached it. The six bone claws also serve the dual purpose of supporting the cape and installing special effect parts (to be discussed later).

Back Design: The back features biomimetic spine details, adding to the overall realistic effect.

Neck and Waist Movement: The neck and waist feature a very natural and flexible joint system, which allows for easy twisting and movement.

Crotch and Leg Design: The crotch area is simple but incorporates silver pre-painted transparent parts for added detail. The leg muscles are also biomimetic and made from soft rubber material, giving a realistic expansion effect when stretched or compressed.

The legs are primarily black, with prominent pre-painted and transparent details on the sides of the thighs, which stand out visually.

Articulation and Poseability

The articulation performance exceeds that of 99% of other mecha models, thanks to several innovative design features that enhance its poseability.

• Neck & Head Movement: The head and neck structure allows for a wide range of motion, including significant backward and downward tilts. When the neck extends forward, the linked armor parts shift to allow for very exaggerated head-forward movements.

• Waist Movement: The waist offers a typical range of motion, but the linked parts provide exceptional flexibility.

• Arm Movement: The arms can be raised beyond 90 degrees. There is no detail loss in the shoulder joint when moving the arms forward. The upper arm and elbow can rotate freely, and the elbow joint bends closely. The soft rubber muscle details on the upper arms help with smooth movements.

• Wrist Articulation: The wrists also feature a downward range, allowing for more dynamic poses when stretching the arm and utilizing the soft rubber material for a more realistic effect.

• Hip Movement: The hip joints don’t have interference from the skirt armor, allowing for a large range of motion. Additionally, there’s a special forward-flipping joint at the base of the thighs, which enables large side-kick movements. However, it’s important to be cautious and avoid rotating the thighs when the joint is flipped out, as it could lead to damage.

• Knee Movement: The knees can bend to a significant degree. The biomimetic muscle details on the lower leg are made of soft rubber, and when bent to their limit, they expand and deform, adding a touch of realism.

• Foot Articulation: The feet have excellent ground contact, and the ankles are fully articulated, providing enough movement for most poses.

Weapons and Accessories

The arm armor provides two sets of parts, primarily used for mounting large shuriken and blades. However, there is only one set of connection parts for these weapons, meaning it’s not possible to dual-wield both weapons at the same time.

• Armor Design: The armor itself connects securely to the arms with dual buckles, ensuring a solid fit. Even when holding a shuriken, the armor can be posed at various angles without any problems.

• Front-End Design: The armor also features a throwing anchor design.

• Kunai: The model includes two kunai, which come with connection parts for mounting on the shoulder or thigh.

The kunai can be held in hand or clamped between the toes, adding more display options.

• Kunai on Armor: Kunai can also be mounted on the armor for firing effects.

• Blade Installation: At the ankle, blades can be mounted using connecting parts, and the blades can be slid into the semi-circular grip, with two grips merging into one.

• Shuriken on Back: The large shuriken can be mounted on the back of the model.

• Claws and Blades: When combined, the four blades form a clawed pose.

Accessory Package

The accessory set includes:

• Four helmets for the Li Mingzhong members.

• Ninja hook claws.

• Scythe chain.

• Ninja sword, which can be attached to the rear of the figure.

• Wall panels with retractable stands, allowing for wall-climbing poses.

The wall panels also function as weapon racks, and the base primarily serves as a stand with limited storage capacity.

Effect Parts

A large portion of the accessory set consists of effect parts which provide an amazing visual impact – the effects are phenomenal and speak for themselves.

Cape and Hand Gestures

The correct way to wear the cape is demonstrated below, though it can also be draped freely for a more dynamic look. Additionally, the proper installation method for the seal hand gestures is shown.

Background Board and Play Options

Another feature is the large background board, which can be used for impressive display effects.

There are additional possibilities such as color swaps and equipment exchanges with other figures like Tastir for varied play.

Final Thoughts

This model is by far the most enjoyable assembly product I’ve worked on this year. The innovative and stable structural design, along with a cool color scheme and a wealth of accessories, make it incredibly fun to assemble and pose. The quality of the parts and the overall assembly experience are excellent. The base model offers fantastic value, and the deluxe version adds even more with impressive effect parts, a cape, and a multitude of play options. Every detail is a reason to recommend this product.
